About the Property
This mid-century modern house rests in the Malibu Hills in sunny southern California. The main property is post and beam construction and almost completely surrounded by expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors with transom windows throughout. At approximately 1,600 square feet, the home features an open floor plan, three (3) bedrooms two (2) bathrooms, two (2) car garage, front yard, courtyard with sitting area and countless trees.
Built in 1966 by a well-known and respected architect Douglas Rucker, the home sits on nearly two acres and is built amidst a canopy of oak trees. The property boasts a quaint wooden bridge over a stream that crosses the property. Mr. Rucker’s style was inspired by Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright, which is reflected in the organic jumbo-sized mossy boulders nestled in the courtyard and historic oak trees that have been architecturally blended through the roof overhang.
The exterior beauty and lighting of the property and the tastefully decorated interior allows for perfect shots for any production, day or night.
Multiple projects for television and print have taken place on the property, most notably a “Lexus: A Holiday to Remember” national television spot. (See an abbreviated list of projects here.)
